Harvard fell to Dartmouth for the first time in program history (Zach Williamson).
HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 2 Harvard men's squash team was upset by No. 11 Dartmouth in its season opener, falling 5-4. Dartmouth handed Harvard its first loss in the all-time series and it snaps the Crimson's 73-game win streak against the Big Green.
Harvard fell to 0-1 on the season and suffered its first season-opening loss since the Crimson dropped a 5-4 decision at Western Ontario Dec. 3, 1977.
Harvard's top three of David Ryan, Bryan Koh and Bradley Smith each picked up wins to pace the Crimson. Dartmouth's Matthew Giegerich won the decisive point in a 13-11 win to secure the win for Dartmouth.
Harvard will return to action as it hosts Penn Jan. 9 in its home opener at noon.
