Harvard suffered its third-straight loss to St. Lawrence (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 4 men's squash battled close, but was edged by No. 6 St. Lawrence, 5-4, at the Murr Center Squash Courts Monday afternoon.
Harvard (2-2, 2-1 Ivy League) played closely with St. Lawrence (7-2) as three matches went five games and another trio of matches went four. The contest came down to the final match as Amr Khaled Khalifa sealed the victory at the No. 1 position to hand the Crimson its second loss of the season.
The Saints top-four paved the way, winning by a total game score of 12-4. Ness Billimoria earned the lone win outside the top-four for St. Lawrence with a 3-2 victory at the No. 8 position.
Devin McLaughlin, Alexi Gosset, Seif Eleinen and Mandela Patrick earned the victories for the Crimson. McLaughlin and Eleinen earned sweeps at the respective No. 5 and No. 7 positions to remain undefeated this season, while Gosset earned a hard-fought 3-1 triumph at the No. 6 spot, and Patrick went the distance to earn the 3-2 victory at the No. 9 position.
Harvard will return to the Murr Center Squash Courts to host Franklin & Marshall Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. to wrap up its four-game homestand.
