No. 4 Men’s Squash Cruises Past No. 25 Tufts, 9-0

Freshman Theodore Mendez tallied his first career win for Harvard against No. 25 Tufts (Gil Talbot).

– The No. 4 Harvard men's squash team dominated against No. 25 Tufts on Saturday afternoon, taking down the Jumbos, 9-0, at the Murr Center Squash Courts.

Harvard (5-0, 3-0 Ivy) earned its fifth-straight win with the 9-0 defeat over Tufts (8-3), while also recording its first nine-match sweep over an opponent since sweeping Penn on Feb. 14, 2014.

Freshman Theodore Mendez collected his first career victory for Harvard with a 3-0 win at No. 6. Sophomore Jack Cooper and junior Mandela Patrick, along with seniors Gordon Michas and Will Mendez, all notched their first wins of the season as well with sweeps in their respective matches.  

Senior Dylan Murray and freshmen Saadeldin Abouaish and Sean Hughes picked up their fourth wins of the season, while sophomore Alexi Gosset moved to 2-0 with a win at No. 4.

Harvard returns to action with road trips to Rochester and St. Lawrence Jan. 28-29. Both matches are slated for a noon start.
