Men's Swimming and Diving Duels with Columbia on Friday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following a sweep of Dartmouth and Cornell to kick off the 2014-15 season, the Harvard men's swimming and diving team is set to welcome in Columbia for an Ivy League dual meet on Friday. The Crimson (2-0, 2-0 Ivy) and Lions (3-1. 1-1 Ivy) will start things off at 4 p.m. in Blodgett Pool.

About Harvard
The Crimson is coming off a heady sweep of its Ivy League foes Dartmouth and Cornell, highlighted by diver Mike Mosca's record-breaking afternoon on the boards. Mosca shattered Dan Watson's record on the 3-meter boards, one which Watson had held since 1985. Mosca owned two of Harvard's nine event wins on the day versus the Big Green and Big Red, while rookies Koya Osada, Shan McNamara, Steven Tan, Ed Kim and Kent Haeffner all had respectable debuts to help capture top finishes. Sophomore Paul O'Hara also made his presence known with a splendid win in the always-competitive 50 free as well.

About Columbia
The Lions enter Friday's showdown 3-1 on the year, having gone 1-1 against Ivy competition. After securing wins over Iona and Army in West Point to start the year, Columbia hosted Penn and defeated the Quakers. Most recently, however, the Lions fell to Yale in New Haven. Columbia has two of its top swimmers from last year in David Jakl and Kevin Quinn, both of whom made NCAA appearances, along with diver Micah Rembrandt.
