AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior Mike Mosca of the Harvard men's swimming and diving team has been named to the Capital One Division I Academica All-America third team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday. Mosca becomes the fourth Academic All-American in men's swimming and diving program history. It's his second nod in as many years.
A record-holding diver at Harvard, Mosca was recently tabbed to the Capital One Division I Academic All-District first team, and was given an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, allowing him to study at Oxford before entering medical school next year. The Tenafly, New Jersey, native became the first athlete in Ivy history to win a Ivy Championship single diving event four times (1-meter), and the third athlete in Ivy history to sweep both 1- and 3-meter events at Ivy Championships.
A 2015 Rhodes Scholar finalist, Mosca's 3.84 GPA as a History and Science concentrator has helped the Crimson to earn a top-5 national GPA ranking every semester he's been in Cambridge.
