Men’s Swimming Set to Send 18 Student-Athletes to Olympic Trials

Max Yakubovich and 17 other Crimson swimmers will compete for a spot on the 2016 U.S. Olympic team in Omaha June 26-July 3 (Athletic Communications).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's swimming team will be well-represented in Omaha in a couple weeks, as 18 current and future student-athletes have qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. The Crimson contingent will be among more than 1,800 athletes set to compete for a spot on the Rio Olympics team. CenturyLink Center is serving as the host of the Trials for the third time, with this year's event slated for June 26-July 3.

The NBC networks and mobile platforms will have extensive coverage of the event, with the NBC Sports Extra App airing the prelims live daily at 10 a.m. central time. A complete breakdown of the television broadcast schedule can be found HERE.

Harvard's U.S. competitors join Aly Abdel-Khalik and Raphael Marcoux as swimmers that competed for in their home country's Trials, with those two having swam at the Canadian Trials in April.

The top two finishers in each event held at the Trials will qualify for the U.S. team set to compete in Rio in August.
