Men’s Swimming and Diving First-Year Jake Johnson Competes at Youth Olympic Games

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Harvard men's swimming and diving first-year Jake Johnson competed on the international stage at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina on Oct. 6-18.

Johnson, a first-year out of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, competed in four individual events and two relays for Team USA in Buenos Aires. He placed eighth in the finals of the 200 IM and the 200 butterfly, posting times of 2:05.39 and 2:01.62, respectively. Additionally, he swam the third leg of Team USA's 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay and 4 x 100-meter medley relay squads.

Johnson helped Team USA place fifth in the 4 x 100 medley relay, clocking in with a time of 3:56.81. Individually, he also finished seventh in the semifinals of the 100-meter butterfly, touching the wall with a time of 54.34.

What's Next
The Crimson opens the 2018-19 season on Nov. 9 with a dual meet against Cornell and Dartmouth in Ithaca, N.Y.
