Men's Tennis Announces Three Incoming Freshmen in Class of 2021

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Harvard men's tennis will add three student-athletes to the roster for the 2017-18 season, David Fish '72, the Scott Mead '77 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Tennis announced today.

Lucas Koelle of Brazil, Robertas Vrzesinski of Lithuania, and Constantin Zoske of Germany will join the Crimson men's tennis program.

"We are very excited to have Lucas, Constantin and Robert joining Harvard men's tennis this fall," associate head coach Andrew Rueb said. "They are true scholar-athletes and will be a great fit at Harvard both in the classroom and on the courts. All three are dedicated students of the game and have a real drive to improve. We are excited to get to work with them during their four years on campus."

Posted a career high ITF junior tennis ranking of No. 57 in the world … Reached second round of US Open and French Open Boys Singles competitions … Ranked fifth in the world with Brazil at the 2014 Junior Davis Cup finals.

Rueb on Koelle: "We are delighted to have Lucas joining our team this fall. He has a very balanced attacking game which is well suited for indoor tennis and doubles. His competitive fire will be an asset to the team."

Reached career high ITF junior tennis ranking of No. 50 in the world … Ranked No. 1427 on the ATP as of Aug. 7, a career high … Has competed in several ATP Futures events in Europe, most recently the Lithuania F1 Futures tournament in July, reaching the Round of 16 … Competed at the 2016 Australian Open in Boys Singles and Doubles.

Rueb on Vrzesinski: "Robert will bring a wealth of international experience to our team. He has strong all-court game in singles and the skills to be a strong doubles player. Fun fact about Robert is that he speaks five languages!"

Under-16 German Champion in Singles and Doubles in 2016 … Named Tennis Athlete of the Year in Dusseldorf (2016) … Member of German National Team at 2016 Junior Davis Cup held in Budapest, Hungary … Member of German Junior National Team since 2015 … Won three German Championships at different age groups.

Rueb on Zoske: "Constantin has the talent and size to be a force on the court. His punishing ground strokes are a real weapon. We are eager to get him on court and get to work. It has been nearly 15 years since the last German player suited up for the Crimson!"
