Men’s Tennis Completes First Day at Southern Intercollegiate Tournament

ATHENS, Ga. – The Harvard men's tennis team closed out the first day of the Southern Intercollegiate Tournament with wins in two out of three singles matches.

First-years Ronan Jachuck and Henry von der Schulenburg defeated opponents in their first matches of the tournament to advance to the quarterfinal round which will take place tomorrow. Both players won their matches in straight sets, with Jachuck defeating Boris Kozlov of LSU, 6-3, 7-6(6), and von der Schulenburg defeating Brandon Freestone of Georgia Tech, 6-3, 6-1.

The pair of first-years also lost a closely contested doubles match against Montsi/Gomes of Illinois, 7-6(6).

The third round of doubles will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. followed by singles quarterfinals and semifinals.
