ATHENS, Ga. – The Harvard men's tennis team finished day two of the Southern Intercollegiate Tournament with victories in three out of five singles matches.
First-year Henry von der Schulenburg began the day by defeating Lucas Horve of Illinois, 7-5, 7-6(4), to advance to the semifinals round of his flight. Von der Schulenburg then went on to defeat Nevin Armilli of Texas, 7-5, 6-4, to advance to the finals. Tomorrow, von der Schulenburg will face Marcus McDaniel of Georgia Tech.
Junior Lane Leschly was also victorious in his quarterfinals singles match defeating Stephen Madonia of Miami (Fla.), 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, before falling in the semifinals.
Von der Schulenburg and fellow first-year Ronan Jachuck received a bye in today's doubles consolation match and will face Moore/Erlenbusch of Tulane tomorrow.
Doubles matches will begin at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow followed by singles finals and consolation finals.
