Harvard earned its first EIVA accolade in freshman Dow (Zack Williamson).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Trevor Dow of the Harvard men's volleyball team has been named EIVA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office. The honor is the first of the year for the freshman.
The middle blocker recorded a team-high 12 total blocks as he assisted Harvard in a 1-1 weekend. Dow registered a career-high six blocks and six kills in the Crimson's 3-0 win against Ivy League rival Princeton. In a 3-2 setback to NJIT, the Needham, Massachusetts native matched his personal best of six blocks to average 1.5 blocks per set for the week. Dow now sits second in the conference and 23rd in the nation in blocks per set averaging 1.03.
Dow's award marked the first time this season that a Harvard student-athlete has been named EIVA Player of the Week.
Harvard will open a three-match homestand against Sacred Heart on Saturday, March 5 at 4 p.m.
