May 29, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising senior Trevor Dow and junior Matthew Ctvrtlik will serve as captains for the 2018-19 Harvard men’s volleyball team. As all captains at Harvard, the leadership posts were determined based on an election of the student-athletes on the team. -

Men’s Volleyball Falls in Four to UCLA in NCAA Tournament
May 02, 2018LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Competing in its first NCAA Championship Tournament in program history, the Harvard men’s volleyball team (13-14, 10-4 EIVA) was upended by UCLA, 3-1, tonight, May 1, at Pauley Pavilion. Battling the Bruins through four hard fought sets, the loss came by set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 11-25 and 21-25 as the Crimson was eliminated from postseason play. The Bruins will go on to face No. 2 BYU in the second round of the tournament. -
Men’s Volleyball Set to Open NCAA Tournament Against UCLA
April 29, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team’s quest for its first national title begins this Tuesday, May 1, as the Crimson heads to Los Angeles, Calif. to face UCLA at Pauley Pavilion in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. First serve is set for 10:30 p.m. EST and will be available to watch on NCAA.com and PAC-12.com. -

April 22, 2018INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Qualifying for postseason play for the first time in program history, the Harvard men’s volleyball team (13-13, 10-4 EIVA) has been selected to face UCLA (24-7) in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Volleyball Tournament, as announced by the league at the NCAA Selection Show today, April 22. The Crimson will travel to face the Bruins at UCLA on Tuesday, May 1 at 10:30 EST. -
Men’s Volleyball Crowned 2018 EIVA Champions, Earns Bid to NCAA Tournament
April 21, 2018FAIRFAX, Va. - Clinching its first ever EIVA CHampionship title and trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history, the Harvard men’s volleyball team took down Princeton int he 2018 EIVA Tournament finals,, 3-1, tonight April 21, at the Recreation Athletic Complex at George Mason. The Crimson defeated the Tigers for the third time this season by set scores of 25-20, 26-24, 17-25 and 25-23. With tonight’s victory, Harvard earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will await its sedding during the selection show this Sunday, April 22. -
Men’s Volleyball Defeats Penn State to Advance to EIVA Finals
April 19, 2018FAIRFAX, Va. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team will advance to the 2018 EIVA Tournament finals for the second time in program history after taking down Penn State, 3-2, tonight at the Recreation and Athletic Complex at George Mason. The Crimson secured its second five set win of the season over the Nittany Lions by set scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 18-26 and 15-11. Harvard will face the winner of No. 1 George Mason and No. 4 Princeton on Saturday, April 21 in the championship match. -
Five Men's Volleyball Players Tabbed to EIVA All-Academic Team
April 18, 2018BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Five individuals on the Harvard men’s volleyball team were named to the EIVA All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference today. Seniors Brad Gretsch, Marko Kostich and Riley Moore, as well as sophomores Matthew Ctvrtlik and Erik Johnsson were all honored for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher this past academic year as well as participating in at least 60% of Harvard’s games. -
Four Men’s Volleyball Players Earn All-EIVA Honors

Gretsch and Kostich have earned first team honors, while Ctvrtlik and Moore were named to the second team for the 2018 season. -

April 14, 2018FAIRFAX, Va. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team suffered its second consecutive loss today, April 13, after falling to George Mason, 3-1, at the Recreation and Athletic Complex. Harvard fell to 10-4 in conference play and 11-13 overall after the Patriots secured the win by set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-19. With the loss, the Crimson is now set to face Penn State in the 2018 EIVA Tournament next weekend as the No. 2 seed. -

Men’s Volleyball Sweeps NJIT on Senior Day
April 07, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team celebrated the Class of 2018 with a 3-0 sweep over NJIT today, April 7, at the Malkin Athletic Center in its final regular season home match. The Crimson picked up its sixth-straight win and fifth three-set victory of the season by set scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-15 to improve to 10-2 in conference play and 11-11 overall, while the Highlanders dropped to 4-8 in the EIVA. -
Three Players Tally Double-Digit Kills in Five Set Victory Against Princeton
April 06, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches tonight, April 6, with a five-set triumph over Princeton. The Crimson now owns a 9-2 record in conference play and has a 9-10 mark overall. After a dominant first two sets from Harvard, the Tigers battled back in set three and four to tie the score and force a decisive fifth set. The Crimson answered with a strong set five to seal the match, 3-2. The win came by set scores of 25-15, 25-21, 18-25, 19-25 and 15-13. -

April 04, 2018The Ivy League and ESPN have agreed to a long-term relationship to showcase Ivy League events through a variety of ESPN platforms, including at least 24 events annually on ESPN’s linear networks and more than 1,100 annually on ESPN+. This will include coverage for all 42 Harvard varsity programs. -

Men’s Volleyball Stuns Penn State, 3-2
March 31, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In front of a standing room only crowd at the Malkin Athletic Center, the Harvard men’s volleyball team stunned EIVA foe Penn State in five sets tonight, March 31. The Crimson earned a thrilling 3-2 win by set scores of 25-13, 32-30, 25-27, 16-25 and 15-12. The victory marks the third straight and brought Harvard into sole possession of second place in the EIVA standings over the Nittany Lions, as the Crimson upped its record to 8-2 in conference play and 9-11 overall. -

March 30, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team won its third straight match tonight, March 30, at the Malkin Athletic Center, taking down Saint Francis (Pa.), 3-1. The four-set victory improved the Crimson to 8-11 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Scores of the contest were 25-15, 25-19, 15-25 and 25-15. -

Moore Claims EIVA Defensive Player of the Week Honors
March 26, 2018The Santa Monica, Calif. native led the Crimson to two victories last weekend over Sacred Heart and Alderson Broaddus. The senior co-captain recorded 10 total blocks in seven sets over the course of the two matches. First tallying three in a 3-1 win against the Pioneers, Moore followed with seven blocks, his second-most in a match this season, as Harvard swept the Battlers. Moore currently ranks fifth in the EIVA in block assists at 53 and sixth in total blocks at 57. -

March 23, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Preventing Sacred Heart from its first conference win of the season, the Harvard men’s volleyball team (6-11, 6-2 EIVA) sealed a 3-1 win against the Pioneers tonight, March 23, at the Malkin Athletic Center. After dropping the first set, the Crimson won three straight to earn its sixth conference win of the season and move to 6-11 overall. The win came by set scores of 24-26, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21. -
Men’s Volleyball Begins Home Stint with Two Matches this Weekend
March 21, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team will begin a six-match homestand this weekend with contests against Sacred Heart and Alderson Broaddus. The Crimson will host the Pioneers on Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m., before returning for an afternoon match up against the Battlers on Saturday, March 24 at 4 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
