CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Juniors Matthew Ctvrtlik and Chase Howard have been named to two Off the Block watch lists for the upcoming season. Ctvrtlik is one of 16 players on the Lloy Ball Award watch list for the top setter in the country, while Howard is one of 19 on the Erik Shoji Award watch list for the nation's top libero.
Ctvrtlik earned All-EIVA second team honors last season, recording five double-doubles and was the only player in the NCAA to record a triple-double when he had 10 kills, 10 digs and 16 assists on Jan. 20 at then No. 15 Ball State.
Howard led the Crimson in digs per set (2.66) last year, playing in 23 matches. He totaled 234 digs on the season. He was second in the EIVA in digs per set and third in total digs, while he was seventh in the country in digs per set.
The Crimson open the season with three matches against ranked teams at the Asics Invitational with its first home match on Jan. 9 vs Laval.
