CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2015 Harvard men's water polo schedule, which features seven home games on the Ivy League Digital Network, has been released. The Crimson plays tournaments at Brown, Princeton and Santa Clara, along with its usual CWPA schedule and the Ivy Championships in preparation for the CWPA Northern and Eastern tournaments.
Led by Ted Minnis, The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach, Harvard will play close to home for much of September, seeing time in the Brown Invite – including a home match against Stanford on opening day. From there, the Crimson goes to New Jersey for the Princeton Invite, before returning home to host CWPA Northern rivals Brown, Connecticut College and MIT from Sept. 19-20.
The Crimson then heads to on a lengthy road swing, starting with St. Francis (Sept. 26), Fordham and Iona (Sept. 27). Harvard then makes a trip further south to take on Connecticut, Brown and MIT (Oct. 11-13), before taking on Ancient Eight foes in the Ivy Championships hosted by Columbia (Oct. 18).
Harvard then takes a flight to California for the Santa Clara Bronco Invite from Oct. 23-25. Last year out in the Golden State, the Crimson claimed a perfect 5-0 record at the Gary Troyer Invite in Pomona, California.
Before the postseason, the Crimson finishes up in the comforts of Blodgett Pool at the end of October. St. Francis, Fordham and Iona visit Cambridge to bring the regular season to a close. A week later, the CWPA Northern Division Championship is slated for November 7-8 at Brown, while the league's 12-team CWPA Eastern Championship is scheduled for November 20-22 on the campus of the MIT in Cambridge.
The Crimson enjoyed one of the more successful seasons recently in 2014, and will look to improve on its 22-10 record, having gone 7-4 in the CWPA Northern Division.
