CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard men's water polo earned its 10th Northeast Water Polo Conference weekly award of the season on Thursday when sophomore Charlie Owens was named Player of the Week. Freshman Jackson Enright and junior goalkeeper Anthony Ridgley were named to the honor roll for Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
Owens netted 10 goals in three games against No. 12 Princeton, Iona and No. 19 St. Francis this past weekend. He scored five times against Iona, setting a new career-high for goals in a single game, surpassing his previous record of three. Harvard swept the weekend, winning all three games. Owens now totals 35 goals, two assists, two steals and four field blocks.
Enright netted four goals in the same three games, two against No. 12 Princeton and two against No. 19 St. Francis. He now totals 28 goals, 19 assists, 26 steals and eight blocks on the season. Ridgley made ten saves in Harvard's 10-9 victory over No. 12 Princeton, and eight saves in Harvard's 15-13 win over No. 19 St. Francis. He now has 130 saves on the season.
No. 14 Harvard hosts MIT this Saturday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. for Senior Day, before traveling for a 3 p.m. contest at No. 16 Brown. Both games will air on the Ivy League Network.
