  • Men’s Water Polo Sweeps NWPC Weekly Honors for Second Straight Week

    BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Junior Dennis Blyashov, sophomore Noah Hodge and first-year Alexandru Bucur have all earned NWPC weekly awards the league announced today, Dec. 4. This marks the first time this season that Blyashov has been named Player of the Week and Bucur has been named Rookie of the Week. Hodge has earned the Defensive Player of the Week title for the sixth time this season and third straight week.

  • Hodge, Putnam, Tsotadze Sweep NWPC Weekly Awards

    BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Sophomores Noah Hodge and Alex Tsotadze and first-year Gabe Putnam have all earned weekly honors from the NWPC the league announced today, Nov. 27. This marks the fifth time that Hodge has been named Defensive Player of the Week this season while Putnam and Tstotadze are both first-time winners of the Rookie of the Week and Player of the Week awards, respectively.
  • No. 9 Men’s Water Polo Set to Host No. 13 Bucknell in Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the third time in four years, the No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team (29-0, 10-0 NWPC) has advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson will host the first opening round game of the tournament at Blodgett Pool, facing No. 13 Bucknell (22-8, 10-2 MAWPC) on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 12:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
  • No. 9 Men’s Water Polo Secures Automatic Bid in NCAA Tournament with NWPC Championship Win

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team (29-0, 10-0 NWPC) defeated No. 19 Princeton (16-15, 6-2 NWPC) 8-7 to secure its third NWPC championship in four years. Head coach Ted Minnis has also earned his 200th career win with the NWPC title. NCAA brackets will be released on Nov. 25 at 12 a.m.

    BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Friends of Harvard Water Polo and James Herscot ’58 Coach of Excellence Ted Minnis and four members of the Harvard men’s water polo team earned end-of the-year honors from the Northeast Water Polo Conference, the league announced today, Nov. 22. Minnis has been named Coach of the Year by the league, while senior captain Charlie Owens has received the Most Valuable Player award.
  • No. 9 Men’s Water Polo Readies for NWPC Championship

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team will head to the NWPC championship as the No. 1 seed after its sixth consecutive season of 20 or more wins. The NWPC Championship will take place at MIT’s Al ’51 & Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center. The 27-0 (10-0 NWPC) Crimson earned a bye into the semifinal round and will face the winner of the MIT/St. Francis (N.Y.) matchup on Nov. 23 at 3 p.m.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team (24-0, 7-0 NWPC) defeated both No. 17 St. Francis (N.Y.) and Iona to move to 24-0 on the season. The Crimson began its day by taking down St. Francis (N.Y.) 14-7 in a morning matchup before continuing the momentum into its night contest against Iona, winning handedly by a score of 16-7.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s water polo team is set to continue conference play at home with matches against Iona, Princeton and No. 17 St. Francis (N.Y.), Nov. 2-3. The Crimson will open up weekend play on Saturday with an early morning contest against St. Francis at 9 a.m. followed by a night match with Iona at 8 p.m. Harvard will then face No. 18 Princeton on Sunday at 3 p.m. to close out the weekend.

    SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team defeated Chapman 13-6 in its final match of the Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament hosted by Santa Clara. The Crimson is now 22-0 on the season, the only remaining undefeated team in the CWPA.

    SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team won both its matches on day two of the Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament to move to 21-0 on the season. As the only remaining undefeated team in the CWPA, the Crimson handed a loss to Santa Clara 19-17 before continuing on to take down No. 13 San Jose State 10-8 later in the day.

  • No. 9 Men’s Water Polo Travels to California for Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 9 Harvard men’s water polo team will head to California for four matches at the Julian Frasier Memorial Tournament hosted by Santa Clara. The Crimson will take on California Baptist at 4:20 p.m. in its only Friday game of the season. On Saturday, Harvard will see action against Santa Clara and No. 13 San Jose State at 1:20 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., respectively. The Crimson will close out its California road trip with a match against Chapman on Sunday at 12:20 p.m.
