Sailing Secures Second Place at Captain Hurst Bowl

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Cruising through a three-regatta schedule, the Harvard sailing team brought home a second-place finish at the Captain Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth this weekend.

Competing against 17 teams in the interconference regatta, Harvard secured second place at Dartmouth, holding off third-place Hobart and William Smith College by an impressive 22-point margin. In the B-Division, the duo of Catherine Tang and Henry Burnes earned third place, while A-Division's Eli Burnes and Lena Episalla and C-Division's Nicholas Karnovsky and Jessica Williams each sailed for fourth.

Down in Providence, Rhode Island, the women's team took on the Women's Showcase Finals hosted by Brown, finishing eleventh overall. Competing in the A-Division, Taylor Gavula and Emily Wang as well as Emma Kaneti and Emma Jakobson represented the Crimson across the weekend, finishing tenth. Lucy Wilmot and Alejandra Resendiz combined for a solid ninth place finish in the B-division.

The team also competed at the Invitational at Mass Maritime, with four sailors representing the Crimson.

What's Next

The team returns to action this weekend for the AC Showcase Finals hosted by St. Mary's College, the Oberg Trophy hosted by MIT and Northeastern, and the Yale Women's Regatta.
