No. 13 Sailing Splits for Trio of Races

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—In its penultimate weekend of regular-season competition, the Harvard sailing team readies for a trio of local regattas this weekend, April 20-21. The No. 13 coed team is set to split time between the Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup at home and the Morris Trophy hosted by Boston University. Meanwhile, the No. 5 women's crew is set to close out its regular-season slate at the NE Women's Championship hosted by MIT.

Rainy conditions await sailors out on the Charles River this weekend, with showers likely across both days of competition. Competitors can expect to open Saturday's races with moderate winds, ranging between 15 and 20 knots throughout the day, and strong gusts up to 25 knots. Moving into day two, races may be delayed due to lulls in winds, with the average speeds maintaining around five knots. 

What to Know
-Playing host to the 2018 Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup, Harvard took the head-to-head tiebreaker against Ivy-rival Yale to earn a seventh-place result.
-At last year's Morris Trophy, Harvard battled through tricky conditions to place ninth overall.
-The Crimson women's squad returns to the NE Women's Championship after finishing ninth in the field last season.
