CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Senior Taylor Gavula and first-year Emma Kaneti were named to the All-New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association(NEISA) Second Team for their performances at skipper this season, as announced by the conference on Sunday. In addition, Kaneti earned NEISA Rookie of the Year honors for her breakout performance on the Crimson's top line.

Gavula and Kaneti have played a critical role for the Crimson women's crew this season, leading Harvard to five top-10 finishes this spring. This past weekend, Gavula and Kaneti helped the Crimson to a sixth-place result at the NEISA Women's Championship, punching Harvard's ticket to the ICSA Women's Championship for a second consecutive year.

The all-NEISA accolades mark the second straight year in which a Harvard sailor has garnered second-team skipper honors. Last year, Taylor Ladd '18 was recognized for her efforts in the water. The two all-NEISA second-team skippers also marks the first time the Crimson has had two honorees since 2011 (Tedd Himler '11, John Stokes '11).
