NEWPORT, R.I.—The No. 10 Harvard women's sailing team capped off the season with a second-place finish at the 2019 ICSA Women's National Championship, earning 199 total points. The second-place performance marks the program's best finish since 2005, when the Crimson brought home the title.

Leading the pack, the trio of Taylor Gavula, Emily Wang and Tess Avery cruised to a first-place mark in the B-Division, edging out eventual champion Brown by one point. In the A-Division, Emma Kaneti, Emma Jakobson, Jessica Williams and Lily Cunningham secured second with 100 total points, besting Ivy rival Yale by six. Across two-days of close competition, the Crimson amassed 24 top-10 placements over 32 races, including four top marks.

The Crimson will return to the water in the fall for the 2019-20 campaign.
