PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior outfielder Andrea Del Conte has been named the Ivy League Player of the week for April 20-26, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Del Conte, who was named COOP Athlete of the Week earlier in the day, hit .529 and drove in four runs for the Crimson over the final five games of the season, helping the Crimson to three victories. The outfielder also tallied four stolen bases to bring her season total to 22, which ranks as the fourth-most in a single season in Harvard history. With 59 steals in her career, she ranks fifth in program history.
Del Conte's stellar play helped the Crimson knock off Bryant, 9-3, in a midweek tilt, before splitting the final series of the season with Dartmouth. The Crimson finished the season with a 23-21 record overall, marking the ninth-straight year it has finished at .500 or better.
Tuesday's recognition of Del Conte marks the sixth weekly award of the season for Harvard. Katherine Appelbe earned the year's first Player of the Year honor, in conjunction with Maddy Kaplan earning Rookie and Taylor Cabe being named Pitcher of the Week. Senior Laura Ricciardone was twice named Pitcher of the Week on March 24 and April 7.
