GREENWOOD, Ind. – Senior infielder Katherine Lantz has been voted to the NCAA Division I Capital One All-District 1 Softball team as announced by CoSIDA Thursday, May 7.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Lantz, a psychology concentrator from Parkland, Florida, led all starters with a .350 average and 27 RBI and tied for the team-lead with five home runs. The Crimson's primary second baseman, Lantz racked up 41 hits, the third most on the team. The SAAC co-chair finished her career as a .292 hitter with 88 RBI, 10 homers and 17 stolen bases.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
