Softball Selected First in Ivy League Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J.- With the start of the 2019 season less than two weeks away, the Harvard softball team was picked to finish first in the Ivy League preseason poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

The returning Ivy League champions received 120 points and 10-first place votes, edging out last year's championship series opponent Dartmouth, who received five first-place elections, by eight points. Following the Big Green, the league selected Columbia with one first-place vote, Penn, Princeton, Cornell, Yale and Brown.

The Crimson returns 12 members from the 2018 championship team, including first-team NFCA All-Region selections Katie Duncan, Rhianna Rich and Meagan Lantz. Harvard kicks off the season in just over a week when it takes on the Jacksonville Classic in Jacksonville, Fla., Feb. 22-24.
