PRINCETON, N.J.- After an impressive performance against Cornell over the weekend, senior Katie Duncan of the Harvard softball team has been named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league today, May 7.
Collectively, the New Jersey native tabbed six strikeouts, a 2.15 ERA and left batters hitting .220 over the course of her three appearances. Throughout the weekend, Duncan picked up two victories while setting the pace for the third contest against Cornell as the Crimson swept the Big Red in the final weekend of regular season play to capture the Ivy League title outright. Additionally, she tallied her second shutout of the season in game one when she collected four strikeouts and allowed just four hits in the 8-0 victory.
Duncan and the rest of the Crimson begin playoff action this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, as they host the Ivy League Playoff series and fight for the automatic berth to the NCAA Championship series. Each contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ with first pitch at 1:30 p.m.
