CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard ski team will travel up to Carrabassett Valley, Maine and Waterville, Maine for the Colby Carnival this weekend, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The alpine squad is set to compete at Sugarloaf Mtn., while the nordic group will race at the Quarry Road Trails.
The nordic crew will compete in the 5km/10km freestyle races on Friday, Jan. 31, and the 10km/15km classic races on Saturday, Feb. 1. The alpine squad will race in both the slalom and the giant slalom over the course of the carnival.

What to Know
- The Crimson returns to the Colby Carnival after an eighth-place finish in the 2017-18 season.
- Junior Nellie Ide has led the alpine squad in both weekends of competition, placing a team-high 12th place (Harvard Carnival, slalom) and 14th place (UVM Carnival, slalom).
- The top-three Harvard finishes in the men's sprint at the UVM Carnival were personal bests in the event (James Kitch/6th, Everett Sapp/12th, Mackinley FitzPatrick/24th).
- In its last outing, the nordic squad brought in over 40 percent of the teams points in the sprint races.
The Harvard squad will travel back up to Maine - this time to Sunday River, for the Bates Carnival Feb. 7-8.
