Gabby Thomas will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after qualifying in the 100 meters.
TAMPA, Fla. – Junior Gabby Thomas punched her ticket to the NCAA Track and Field Championships in 100m, leading Harvard track and field on day 2 of the NCAA East Preliminary Meet on Thursday at USF Track and Field Stadium.
Thomas ran a wind-aided 10.99, winning the first 100m quarterfinal heat to automatically qualify for the national meet. Later in the day, Thomas qualified for Saturday's 200m quarterfinal, again winning her heat in 22.46.
Karina Joiner placed 37th overall in the 100m hurdles, finishing in 13.57.
After a lengthy weather delay, sophomore Will Battershill took 35th place in the 3000m steeplechase (9:11.88). In her NCAA East meet debut, freshman Anna Juul took 41st in the same event, finishing in 10:45.54.
The Crimson will conclude competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Meet tomorrow with track events beginning at 12:30.
