Fajemisin, Thomas Solidify Spots at NCAA Track and Field Championships

Sophomore Simi Fajemisin qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the triple jump. 

TAMPA, Fla. –
Two more tickets to Eugene and the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships were punched by Harvard at the NCAA East Preliminary Meet on Saturday after another round of impressive performances.

Junior sprinter Gabby Thomas ran the fastest 200m time of the day, qualifying for the national meet in her best event with a 22.42 performance.

Sophomore Simi Fajemisin will join Thomas in Oregon after placing 11th in the triple jump (42-4), with her qualifying mark coming on her first effort of the day.

The men's 4x400m relay team – Rodney Agyare-May, Myles Marshall, Jovahn Williamson, and Matt Hurst -  narrowly missed a spot in Eugene, placing 16th in 3:09.60.  

Freshman Abbe Goldstein also had a strong NCAA meet debut, finishing 18th overall in the 5000m (16:32.73). On the men's side, Hugo Milner placed 31st in the same event with a 14:36.07 finish.

What's Next
Simi Fajemisin (triple jump) and Gabby Thomas (100m, 200m) will compete at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, with competition beginning on June 6.
