Women’s Basketball Hosts Cross-Town Rival Boston University Friday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Concluding its four-game homestand at Lavietes Pavilion after a two-week break, the Harvard women's basketball team will welcome cross-town rival Boston University on Friday, Dec. 21. The Crimson and Terriers will square off at 4 p.m. and will air on ESPN+ and NESN.

What to Know
- Despite a late offensive push, the Crimson fell to Rutgers, 60-49, at Lavietes Pavilion in its last competition on Friday, Dec. 8. Junior Katie Benzan led Harvard in scoring, reaching double figures for the eighth time this season with 19 points. The Crimson moved to 4-6 on the season.
- Jadyn Bush has led Harvard in rebounding in seven of its first 10 contests of the season. The sophomore forward tops the Crimson's lineup and the Ivy League, averaging 9.4 boards per game.
- Katie Benzan ranks seventh among Ivy League competition in scoring with 14.2 points per game, having recorded double-digit points in eight games.
- Friday will mark the 33rd meeting in program history between the Crimson and Terriers. Harvard has bested BU in each of its last three meetings to take a 18-15 lead in the all-time series.
- The Terriers come to Cambridge with a 4-5 record, while currently enduring a three-game losing streak.  Boasting a 4-0 mark on their home court, BU has yet to secure a win on the road as it holds a 0-5 record as the visiting team.

Leading the Way
Head coach Kathy Delaney-Smith returns for her 37th season at the helm of the program after leading the Crimson to its third-straight, and eighth in the last 10 years, WNIT appearance last season. The winningest coach in Ivy League basketball history with 585 career victories, Delaney-Smith passed former Princeton head coach Pete Carril (514) for most wins by an Ancient Eight coach on either the men's or women's side during the 2013-14 season.
