CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Friends of Harvard Women's Basketball Head Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith has announced the team's 2019-20 schedule today, July 31. The Crimson will begin its season in non-conference play, as its slate spans 10 different leagues. Harvard looks to earn a spot in the Ivy League Tournament for the fourth-consecutive year with 12 regular season contests at Lavieties Pavilion.
The Crimson will head to the Midwest to battle Northern Illinois on Nov. 5 in a midweek matchup to kick of its season. Returning to Cambridge for its home opener against California on Nov. 8, Harvard will also host Siena on Nov. 12, before traveling to LaSalle on Nov. 15 and Rutgers on Nov. 17 for its first road trip.
Harvard will then briefly return to the friendly confines of Lavietes Pavilion, hosting Hartford on Nov. 22. Making the short trip down Commonwealth Avenue to take on Boston University on Nov. 26, the Crimson will visit Quinnipiac on Nov. 30 to close out its opening month of competition.
Harvard will begin the month of December hosting Northeastern on Dec. 4, before heading north to face Maine on Dec. 7 to begin a three-game road stretch. The Crimson will conclude its road swing with a trip to Florida to participate in the FAU Tournament, Dec. 20-21. The Crimson will then return home to conclude 2019 at Lavietes, hosting Rhode Island on Dec. 30 for its final tune-up before Ivy League play.
The Crimson will begin conference play with a visit to Dartmouth on Jan. 11 for each of the team's Ivy openers. Beginning a five-game homestand, the Crimson will welcome Dartmouth on Jan. 25, Penn and Princeton from Jan. 31- Feb. 1 and Yale and Brown from Feb. 7-8. The Crimson will then hit the road for a four-game road trip to Cornell and Columbia from Feb. 14-15, followed by Princeton and Penn on Feb. 21-22 to continue Ancient Eight play.
The Crimson will host its final two home games from Feb 28-29, taking on Columbia and Cornell. Harvard will then battle in its last two contests of the regular season before the Ivy League Tournament on the road at Brown and Yale, March 6-7.
The 2020 Ivy League Tournament will be held in Cambridge at Lavietes Pavilion from March 14-15, featuring the top four men's and women's teams from the regular season.
