CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Radcliffe heavyweight crew, a 2019 NCAA Championships participant, revealed today its 2019-20 schedule, which features two regattas in the fall and six in the spring.
The Black and White opens the campaign with the 55th edition of the Head of the Charles. The two-day event is slated for Oct. 19-20 on the Charles River. Then on Nov. 17, Radcliffe will return to action for the Foot of the Charles Regatta.
After a four-plus-month hiatus, the Black and White begins its competition season on March 28, when it faces Michigan, Ohio State and Yale at the Ivy/Big 10 Double Dual on the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey. The schedule sends Radcliffe back to The Garden State the following week as it is slated to compete at the Ivy Round Robin on Lake Carnegie in Princeton.
The Black and White's final home appearance of the campaign is set for April 18, when it welcomes Brown to Cambridge and the Charles River.
Radcliffe's final three events will span three different states, beginning with an April 25 double dual against Yale and Northeastern on the Housatonic River in Derby, Connecticut. The Black and White returns to Massachusetts for the Eastern Sprints on May 3 in Worcester before finishing the campaign on May 17 at the Ivy League Championships in Camden on the Camden River.
The 2020 NCAA Championships, meanwhile, are set for May 28-31 on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Radcliffe is coming of a 2018-19 effort that saw it advance to the 2019 NCAA Championships after it received an at-large bid for the first time since 2015. Radcliffe ultimately concluded the three-day national event with a 1V and a 2V victory in the C Final.
