No. 5 Radcliffe will host No. 3 Princeton next week (Zack Williamson).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On a beautiful day of racing on the Charles River, the No. 5 Radcliffe lightweight crew took second at the Muri Cup/Beanpot, defeating No. 8 MIT, but falling to No. 2 Boston University in the first varsity eight event.
With a head wind increasing throughout the morning, Radcliffe took the second varsity eight race to open the day. The Black and White cruised to a 15-second victory, topping BU, 7:07.5 to 7:22.8. Radcliffe's 3V8 placed third in 7:03.4, ahead of MIT 7:37.1.
In the varsity eight event, the Terriers claimed their second-straight Muri Cup/Beanpot by taking the race in 7:03.2, just ahead of Radcliffe (7:06.1). The Engineers took third with a mark of 7:16.4.
