CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 6 Radcliffe lightweight crew will make the short jaunt to Worcester, Massachusetts and Lake Quinsigamond to compete in the 2018 Eastern Sprints Championship Sunday, April 29.
Radcliffe has won four of the last five Eastern Sprints titles, including a three-second win over Wisconsin last season.

Racing on the Charles River, Radcliffe was able to defeat MIT for the Muri Cup, but was beaten by Boston University for the Beanpot. The Black and White defeated MIT in all four races staged.
The Radcliffe lightweights have won the Eastern title at Sprints 16 times and in four of the last five seasons. Eleven (11) of those championships came in varsity eight races: 1977, '80, '82, '84, '85, '87, '97, 2004, '13, '14, '15, '17. On three other occasions (1993, '94 and '96), the Black and White won the Sprints title by virtue of its win in the varsity four when no varsity eight race was contested. Radcliffe also won the varsity four in 1995 and '98 and won the novice eight in 2007. The Black and White was first in last year's third varsity eight event.

In her third season at the helm, Radcliffe lightweights head coach Sarah Baker guided the Black and White to a 10-8 dual record. Radcliffe captured the Eastern Sprints title last season and earned a bronze medal at the IRA National Championships in 2016.
