NEW YORK – Harvard women's fencing went 1-3-1 in its third outing of the year at the St. John's Invitational.
The Crimson earned a victory over Penn State (14-13) and a draw with host St. John's (11-11) to go 1-3-1 at the Invitational. Harvard dropped contests with Columbia (16-11), Ohio State (16-11), and Notre Dame (15-12). Harvard moves to 7-3-1 on the season.
The sabre squad went 4-0-1, with Adrienne Jarocki winning 12 bouts to co-lead the Crimson. The foil fencers were 2-3 on the day, with Hali Nelson and MacKenzie Lawrence each recording six wins. Emma Väggö recorded 12 wins in the epee unit, tied for best on the team.
Harvard returns to the strip February 8 at the Ivy League Round Robins in New York. The Crimson went 5-1 at the event a year ago.
