Harvard will be represented by five members from the men's and women's teams (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A successful regular season by the men's and women's fencing teams has culminated in 10 Harvard fencers qualifying for the 2015 NCAA Championships, as announced by the organization. Ohio State will serve as the host for the event.
On the women's side, Aliya Atzkowitz, Adrienne Jarocki, MacKenzie Lawrence, Hali Nelson and Emma Väggö were selected, while Jerry Chang, Eli Dershwitz, Brian Kaneshige, Duncan O'Brien and Nicolas Simko were chosen from the men's squad.
Jarocki and Itzkowitz led Harvard's women's team at the NCAA Northeast Regional, placing first and third in the sabre divison. Lawrence, Nelson, and Väggö netted top-10 finishes as well. The women's team ended the regular season ranked fourth in the country with a 14-5-1 overall record.
The men's team won a share of its third-straight Ivy League Championship in 2015, and finished the regular season ranked third at 14-3. O'Brien and Simko won gold medals at the NCAA Northeast Regional, while Dershwitz, Chang and Kaneshige finished in the top-eight of their divisions.
The men's and women's teams will combine for a push towards the 2015 National Championship, held from March 19-22 in Columbus, Ohio. Coverage of the competition can be seen on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.
