ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 4 Harvard women's fencing team concluded day one of the Ivy League Championship with a 3-0 record, placing them in first.
In its opening bouts, the Crimson defeated Yale 22-5 and five Harvard student-athletes finished with a 3-0 mark. Adrienne Jarocki, Aliya Itzkowitz, Liana Henderson-Semel, MacKenzie Lawrence, and Claire Dinhut each topped their opponents in their respective weapons.
Harvard defeated Princeton after close bouts, 16-11, with undefeated performances from saber fencer Adrienne Jarocki and epeeist Shawn Wallace.
The Crimson surpassed Brown after winning all by two bouts for a final score of 25-2. Nine Harvard fencers went undefeated in the matchup.
Day two will resume with matches against Cornell at 10:00 a.m., former champions Columbia at 11:30 a.m., and Penn at 1:45 p.m.
