CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Adrienne Jarocki and Liana Yamin have been chosen by their teammates as the Harvard women's fencing captains for the 2016-17 season. The duo of Jarocki and Yamin will serve as the third pair of two-time captains that has been elected by their teammates in Harvard women's fencing history.
Saber fencer Jarocki was named to the All-America first team, All-Ivy first team, Winter Academic All-Ivy League Team, and CoSIDA Academic All-District first team, while also being crowned NCAA Champion for the second time. The Middle Village, New York native is the first two-time fencing champion at Harvard and third in the nation. She concluded her junior season with an overall record of 84-7.
Yamin, a foil fencer, went undefeated against Tufts and at the Tradition Tournament hosted by Sacred Heart with a perfect 3-0 record. The Allendale, New Jersey native assisted the women's squad in a share of the Ivy League title after an even 7-7 performance last season.
The Crimson, as a team, finished seventh overall at the NCAA Championship in the 2015-16 season, while the women squad captured its fourth Ivy League title with a 5-1 record and a 14-1 overall mark.
