CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Gabrielle Tartakovsky and Shawn Wallace will guide the Harvard women's fencing team through the 2018-19 season as senior captains. As all captains at Harvard, the leadership posts were determined based on an election of the student-athletes on the team.
Tartakovsky claimed a 40-33 overall record during the 2017-18 campaign, consistently leading the sabre squad to victory. The Livingston, N.J. product posted her best showing at the NCAA Championships this past season, placing 15th overall with 12 wins and helping the Crimson to a fifth-place overall victory.
Wallace garnered a 67-32 overall record during the 2017-18 slate fencing epee for the Crimson. Her 16-2 record and team-high plus-42 touch differential at the Ivy League Championships earned her a spot on the All-Ivy first team for the first time in her career. The Singapore native advanced to the NCAA Championships for the third consecutive year, finishing 11th overall.
