Women’s Fencing Welcomes Six as Class of 2022

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Peter Brand, head coach of the Harvard women's fencing team, has announced the incoming Class of 2022 for the upcoming 2018-19 season. The incoming six-member freshmen class includes Catherine Beddingfield (Épée), Veronica Czyzewski (Sabre), Melissa Du (Foil), Cynthia Liu (Foil), Martha Merriam (Sabre) and Elizabeth Tartakovsky (Sabre).

Czyzewski, Du, Merriam and Tartakovsky hail from New Jersey, while Beddingfield is a local native of California and Liu of Massachusetts.

The six incoming freshmen will join a team that went 12-5 in 2017-18, finished third at the Ivy League Championships and had two All-Ivy and two All-America honorees.
