SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- Coming off a successful year with the Crimson, first-years Elizabeth Tartakovsky and Veronica Czyzewski placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in women's sabre at the North American Cup on Friday, April 12. On the men's side, Phillipe Guy took home a top-25 finish in men's sabre.
During pool play, Elizabeth Tartakovsky collected five victories with a +12-touch differential to advance to the win-or-bust bracket. Tartakovsky continued to pave through the competition as she picked up three more victories before falling in the final eight to Francesca Russo in a 15-14 decision.
Teammate Veronica Czyzewski also moved through for a seventh-place finish after making it through three rounds in the win or go home bouts. The New Jersey native collected eight total victories with an overall +9-touch differential on the day.
