CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Peter Brand, the head coach for Harvard men's and women's fencing, will not be returning for the 2019-20 season, Bob Scalise, The Nichols '53 Family Director of Athletics, announced Tuesday.

A national search for a successor will be conducted.

The men's and women's fencing programs have combined for 14 Ivy League titles, as well as the 2006 NCAA championship, which stands as one of four NCAA titles in Harvard history. Consistently ranked in the top-10 in the country, Harvard's program has produced nine Olympians, 11 NCAA individual champions and 115 All-America selections in its 124-year history. The 2018-19 Crimson finished third at the NCAA championship, while each of the 2019 graduates celebrated at least one Ivy League title.
