Cheng, Fairbairn, Zhou Recognized as WGCA All-American Scholars

The Harvard trio was among the 828 student-athletes recognized by the WGCA  (Sideline Photos).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising seniors Anne Cheng and Nina Fairbairn, along with rising sophomore Anna Zhou, have been named as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, association officials announced Tuesday.

For Cheng this marks the second-consecutive year that she has received the honor, while Fairbairn and Zhou received the accolade for the first time in their careers. o be named an All-American Scholar, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

The trio helped Harvard to its fifth-consecutive Ivy League championship this past season. As the conference champion, Harvard also made its fifth-straight trip to the NCAA Regional Championships, where it recorded the program's best-ever finish with a ninth-place result.

Cheng is also a three-time All-Ivy League first team performer. Zhou, meanwhile, was named to the All-Ivy League second team and was tabbed as the conference's Rookie of the Year.
