Women's Golf Tees Off in 2018-19 at the Dartmouth Invitational This Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's golf team opens its 2018-19 season at the Hanover Country Club with the Dartmouth Invitational this weekend, Sept. 15-16. 

The Lineup
Harvard will send five players to the two-day tournament, including three freshmen. Senior Michelle Xie, sophomore Jessica Luo, and freshmen Anina Ku, Elizabeth Wang, and Chloe Royston will tee off for the Crimson beginning at 10:04 a.m. on Saturday. 

Tournament Field
The 85-player field consists of 15 teams and 10 individuals from all three divisions.  Albany, Brown, BU, Dartmouth, Fairfield, Hartford, Harvard, Holy Cross, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Siena, Southern New Hampshire, Wagner, Williams, and Yale, will be competing.

What To Know

  • The Course: Hanover Country Club, par 72, rating 75.5, slope 137.
  • Senior Michelle Xie earned individual medalist honors, carding scores of 77-71-72 at the 2018 Ivy League Championship last spring.
  • Participating in her first collegiate tournament, freshman Elizabeth Wang competed at the 118th U.S. Amateur Championship this summer. She advanced to the round of 16 after defeating the No. 1 Women's World Amateur in the earlier rounds.
  • Fellow freshmen, Chloe Royston and Anina Ku are also making their collegiate debuts. 

At The Helm
Kevin Rhoads enters his 14th season as Harvard's women's golf head coach. Under his leadership, the Crimson has won a combined 41 tournaments, and has registered its nine lowest scoring averages in program history. Additionally, the 23 lowest team scores have all come during the last eight years alone.
