Daniels Signs With Boston Pride of NWHL

BOSTON - Continuing her hockey career after four standout seasons with the Crimson, Sydney Daniels has signed with the Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Daniels was a second round (fifth overall) NWHL Draft selection by the New York Riveters in 2016, which marked the highest selection in program history for the league.

Capping a high-octane career with Harvard, Daniels tallied a team-high 11 goals to go with five assists in 2016-17, including scored seven goals in Ivy play, which ranked second overall. One of the most explosive goal scorers in program history, Daniels finished her Crimson career in 15th on the all-time goals list with 59, while tallying 87 points overall. She ranked eighth nationally as a junior in goals-per-game, with 0.68.

A team captain as a senior, Daniels was a three-time All-Ivy League honoree as well an ECAC Hockey second team selection in 2016.  Daniels was part of a senior class that won 73 games over four seasons, helping Harvard win both ECAC Hockey and Ivy League championships while advancing to both a Frozen Four and national championship game appearance in 2015.

Daniels joins an elite group of former Crimson skaters playing professionally. In 2016-17, seven players competed in either the NWHL or CWHL, with additional skaters participating in Europe. The Boston Pride posted a league best 16-1 record last season, but fell to the Buffalo Beauts in the Isobel Cup final.
