ALBANY, N.Y. – Harvard women's hockey freshman Brooke Jovanovich was named ECAC Hockey's Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today (Nov. 14). In Harvard's three-point weekend, Jovanovich tallied two goals in a 6-3 win against Brown, including the game-winner, and added an assist in a 2-2 tie with Yale.
The left-wing finished the weekend tied for the team high of three points, is tied for the team lead in points this season (5) and leads the team in goals (4) as a freshman. The Oakville, Ontario native has also put 17 shots on net and is tied for first in the ECAC with two game-winning goals.
The weekly honor is Jovanovich's first and Harvard's first for the 2017-18 season.
Harvard women's hockey is 3-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the ECAC prior to this weekend's home-and-home series with non-conference opponent Holy Cross. The puck drops Friday at 6 p.m. at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center and the Crimson will make the return trip to the Hart Center for a 2 p.m. game start on Saturday, Nov. 18.
