LOS ANGELES – Harvard first-year Dominique Petrie has been named captain of the 2019 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team for the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championships, set for Jan. 6-12 in Obihiro, Japan.
"Both Dominique and Katy are valued members of our women's under-18 program," said Maura Crowell (Mansfield, Mass./University of Minnesota Duluth), head coach of the 2019 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team. "They have experience succeeding at the highest level and, most importantly, both of them are respected by their teammates and the staff."
Petrie and Team USA will be playing for their third consecutive gold medal at the Under-18 World Championship. The Hermosa Beach, Calif. native was an alternate captain at last year's tournament and served as captain for the 2018 Under-18 Women's Select Team at the Uner-18 Series vs. Canada this past summer.
In her first five outings with the Crimson, Petrie collected four points on three goals and one assist, including two scores in the season opener against Dartmouth.
