Women’s Hockey Falls 4-2 to No. 5/5 Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Harvard women's hockey team (5-11-2, 4-8-1 ECAC Hockey) fell to No. 5/5 Clarkson (19-5-1, 10-3-0 ECAC Hockey) on Friday night at Cheel Arena by a score of 4-2. Kaitlin Tse and Lexie Laing led the offense with one goal apiece while Kristin Della Rovere and Emma Buckles each put five shots on target.

Laing owned at the faceoff dot, winning 20 of 27 draws. Bradley Fusco and Kate Hallett played their hands in the D-zone, blocking two shots each while Lindsay Reed registered 27 saves.

The Golden Knights opened scoring just 3:35 into the first period, netting a wrister from the right circle. Harvard responded less than five minutes later with a power-play strike from Kaitlin Tse. Before the end of the first, Clarkson would chip in one more for a 2-1 lead through 20. Clarkson continued the offensive onslaught in the second, bookending the period with goals at 3:08 and 19:02. In the final minutes, Lexie Laing was able to cut the deficit to two with a snipe at 17:35 of the final frame.
