Women’s Hockey Unveils 2019-20 Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
The 2019-20 Harvard women's ice hockey schedule has been unveiled by The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, Katey Stone. The slate features 14 home games, including an exhibition contest, 14 away games and three neutral site contests, which includes the annual Beanpot Tournament, hosted in 2020 by Boston University. 

The 2019-20 schedule is highlighted by Country Classic Weekend, to be held in Nashville, Tenn. over the Thanksgiving holiday. The Crimson will play at the NHL's Nashville Predators' Ford Ice Center and will join Boston College, Minnesota and Wisconsin in an "East vs. West" pair of contests. Harvard will be featured in the primetime slot on both Friday and Saturday (Nov. 29-30) facing Wisconsin and Minnesota, respectively. Boston College will also take on the Badgers and Gophers in Music City. Tickets for the event are already on sale, with weekend passes and individual game tickets available. The Crimson will open the season with its annual exhibition contest against McGill on Oct. 11 at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center, followed by the regular season and ECAC Hockey puck drop at Dartmouth on Oct. 25. 

The following week, the Crimson will host Brown and Yale on Nov. 1-2, then visit Princeton and Quinnipiac on Nov. 8 and 9, respectively. Early the next week, Harvard welcomes Boston College to the Bright-Landry Hockey Center on Nov. 12 and will make the short trip to Boston University on Nov. 19. The Crimson will host New Hampshire Nov. 23 for a quick tune-up before heading to Nashville, Tenn. over the Thanksgiving holiday. Harvard is set to go head-to-head with Wisconsin and Minnesota on Nov. 29 and 30, respectively. 

Harvard will visit Yale and Brown on December 6-7 to finish out 2019. Entering 2020, the Crimson will have a four-game home stand against Union on Jan. 3, Rensselaer on Jan. 4, Quinnipiac on Jan. 10, and Princeton on Jan. 11. In the following two weeks, Harvard will travel to Colgate on Jan. 17, Cornell on Jan. 18, St. Lawrence on Jan. 24, and Clarkson on Jan. 25. The team will close out January hosting Dartmouth on Jan. 31.   

On Feb. 4, the Crimson will face cross town rival Northeastern in the Beanpot semifinals, hosted this season by Boston University at Walter Brown Arena. The squad will stay close to home the following weekend, hosting Cornell and Colgate Feb. 7-8 before heading back to BU for the Beanpot championship or consolation matchup on Feb. 11. After the Beanpot, Harvard will visit Rensselaer on Feb. 14 and Union on Feb. 15. The final two regular season games will be home games against Clarkson on Feb. 21 and St. Lawrence on Feb. 22. 

The Crimson is set to welcome seven first year student-athletes and will return 19 members from the 2018-19 roster including standout goalie Lindsay Reed and four of its top five scorers.
