ALBANY, N.Y. – Harvard women's hockey sophomore, Kristin Della Rovere, has been named ECAC Hockey's Player of the Week as announced by the conference today (Dec. 9). Della Rovere posted a five-point weekend that helped preserve Harvard's unblemished 7-0-0 conference record.
On Friday night at Yale, the Caledon East, Ontario native recorded her second hat trick of the season to help lift the Crimson over the Bulldogs 4-2, her first coming in the season opener at Dartmouth. Her natural hat trick in New Haven, Conn. was the first for a Harvard player since October 2012. Her second goal of the night proved to be the game winner, improving the Crimson's conference record to 6-0-0.
Following up her performance on Friday, Della Rovere scored the game-winning tally in overtime against Brown, securing Harvard's second win in extra time this season and improving the Crimson's conference record to 7-0-0. Della Rovere also tallied an assist on Keely Moy's score just 3:58 into the game.
Della Rovere now leads the team with 10 goals in 11 games, 0.91 goals per game, a mark that puts her second in the nation.
Harvard returns to action following finals and the winter holidays with a standalone matchup at Boston College on Dec. 31.
