CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 9/9 Harvard women's hockey (10-5-0, 9-1-0 ECAC Hockey) team was edged 2-1 and suffered its first loss in conference play at the hands of the Quinnipiac Bobcats (12-7-3, 4-6-2 ECAC Hockey) on Friday night at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Kristin Della Rovere was the lone scorer for the Crimson while Lindsay Reed made 25 saves between the pipes.
Harvard struck less than two minutes in off the stick of Della Rovere. As the Bobcats were exiting the defensive zone, Anne Bloomer intercepted a pass, positioning the puck in the middle of the zone for Della Rovere's shot at 1:09. Just over a minute later at 2:12, Quinnipiac evened the score on a redirect from the slot.
Quinnipiac took a 2-1 lead at 8:15 of the middle frame when Lindsay Reed made two initial saves but the visitors broke through at close range on their third attempt. Despite 14 shots on target in the third period, Harvard was unable to crack the Bobcat defense, dropping the 2-1 decision.

The team returns to Bright-Landry tomorrow to take on No. 7/7 Princeton. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and NESN and will be a battle for sole possession of the to spot in ECAC Hockey standings.
