CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Audrey Todd and
sophomore Marisa Romeo of the Harvard women’s lacrosse team
have been named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason
All-America team, the publication announced.
Todd, a midfielder from Baltimore, Maryland, led Harvard with 38
draw controls and was second with 29 goals, 36 points and 33 ground
balls as a sophomore in 2014. One of Harvard’s three captains
for the upcoming 2015 campaign, Todd scored multiple goals in 11
contests, including eight straight games from March 22 through
April 19, and tallied a career-best six goals in a win over Boston
University April 16. Todd garnered a nod to the All-Ivy League
first team last season and was a second-team honoree as a freshman
in 2013.
Romeo, an attacker from Syracuse, New York, was tabbed to the
All-Ivy second team after pacing the conference with 48 goals and
58 points. She also led Harvard with 10 assists and scored at least
one point in all 16 games last spring. Romeo recorded nine hat
tricks and amassed a career-high six goals in the victory against
Vanderbilt April 2.
Harvard, which finished 9-7 overall and 4-3 in the Ivy League last
year, earned a spot in the Ivy tournament semifinals. The Crimson
will open the 2015 season at home against Hofstra Feb. 21.
